Esoteric Acupuncture is a creative healing art that focuses on unlocking energetic encodings to access higher realms of consciousness. The purpose of doing this is to have deeper understanding of one’s self and life purpose. Esoteric Acupuncture integrates many traditions and modalities including: the traditional Chinese acupuncture system, Sacred Geometry, Hindu Chakra and Nadi systems, Colour Theory, Pythagorean numbers, the Cabbalistic Tree of Life, physics from Einstein to Field Theory and quantum mechanics and superstring theory. It is described as an inclusive or open system without restrictions, limitations or boundaries. Unlike a closed system where there is only one path which leads to the truth. Everyone’s journey is unique and we don’t need to follow someone else, but forge our own path and find our own truth.

Dr. Mikio Sankey (www.esotericacupuncture.com) named the practice Esoteric Acupuncture. The word “esoteric” can be defined as something that is “hidden” or “not readily known”. The term acupuncture is rooted in the Greek terms “Acus” which can be translated as “needle” and “puncture” which means to penetrate or pierce. With Esoteric acupuncture we are aiming to pierce the physical body (temple) to activate that which is hidden.

Where Esoteric Acupuncture differs from other modalities is that it focuses on the fundamental levels above the physical, emotional, and mental levels. Receiving an Esoteric Acupuncture treatment is similar to experiencing a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture treatment. The majority of the acupuncture points used are on the main meridian pathways and the stimulation of the acupuncture sites are preformed by needling the points very gently with ultra fine, high quality needles which are retained for some time. The difference lies in the point selection and activation. Dr. Sankey explains what he terms the New Encoding Patterns which are grid like patterns made up of specific acupuncture points needled in a specific sequence which creates sacred geometric patterns. The energy accessed by the New Encoding Patterns create spin fields. When activated through the acupuncture sites, spin fields move qi very rapidly and expansively through our body, mind and emotions, as an effect of opening consciousness. This overlay of sacred geometry on top of the activated acupuncture points creates an opportunity to access higher realms of consciousness. This access will assist us in reconnecting with our finer levels of the Heart (known in Chinese medicine as Shen) to initiate a higher form of healing and reconnection to Universal Oneness.

Although the main focus of Esoteric Acupuncture treatment is to expand consciousness, the person receiving the treatment can also experience an improvement in physical symptoms as well. The root of all things is energy and vibration, including the physical body. Accessing the more fundamental levels of energy and consciousness will enable changes made on that level to be “stepped down” to the physical body.

We need to focus on working from the heart and emphasize wellness rather than disease. True health care means we are helping to maintain health before it moves into the disease stage. The concept of health and healing is often viewed as changing from a state of physical, mental, or emotional imbalance or pain to a state that is considered normal and without pain. Modern healthcare is focused on diseases and finding “cures” for these diseases. The Wellness model stresses disease prevention and health maintenance and the growth and enhancement of the spiritual aspects of humanity. Esoteric Acupuncture broadens the approach of just treating difficulties experienced by the physical body or emotions and focuses on wellness and expanded consciousness because healing is viewed as moving from one state of consciousness to a healthier and expanded state of consciousness.
